Compost Calculator

This calculator is to help you plan for how much compost you need to amend the soil of a raised bed garden or an in-ground plot.

The Raised Bed calculation is for figuring out the volume of the entire bed. It will suggest the amount of compost needed at 20% and 30% levels. How much you choose is based on how depleted the soil is.

The In-Ground calculator should be used with a compost depth between 1 and 2 inches. It calculates how much you would need to cover the entire plot with the suggested amount of compost. You cover the bed and work it in to the existing soil.
