Compost Together. Save Resources. Build Soil.
The Block Club is a shared composting service for neighbors. Instead of every house paying for a separate pickup, you form a Block Club Pod to share one commercial bin, reducing the cost and environmental impact.

Become a Neighborhood Steward

-
Your Job: Keep the main bin accessible and recruit neighbors.

Your Price: Starts at standard rates, but drops by $5/mo for every neighbor you add. (Goal: $5/mo).

-
Your Job: Fill your 5-gallon bucket and walk it to the Captain's Hub.

NEIGHBORHOOD STEWARD
Build Your Block Club Pod. Reap the Harvest.
Nature doesn’t work alone. Neither should you.
In the ocean, dolphins travel in pods to move faster and stay safe. In the garden, peas grow in pods to thrive together.
For too long, we’ve handled our waste in isolation—dragging heavy bins to the curb and losing the value of our resources, letting them become pollutants in the landfill.
It’s time to organize. It’s time to become a Neighborhood Steward.
Your Role: The Anchor
You aren't a waste manager. You are a catalyst. A Neighborhood Steward is the neighbor who steps up to say:
-
YES for the street or immediate area.
-
YES to bringing neighbors together into a Pod.
-
YES to keeping the value of our waste right here on the block.
Dirt Wain's Role: The Support
We provide the infrastructure so you can focus on the community.
-
The Station: We deliver a clean bin to your house (The Hub).
-
The Gear: We provide a 5-gallon Block Club bucket for every single household in your Pod + a yard sign for each house that wants one.
-
The Rhythm—We haul based on the seasons:
-
Growing Season (May – Oct): Weekly pickup.
-
Dormant Season (Late Oct – Late April): Every-other-week pickup.
-
-
The Pitch: We provide organizing scripts, and are available for any additional support you need.
The Goal: Build a "Full Pod"
Your mission is to fill the roster. When you hit "Full Pod" status, the benefits multiply.
-
Standard Pod: You fill a 32-Gallon Hub with 6 participating households.
-
Mega Pod: You fill a 64-Gallon Hub with 10 participating households.
The Reward: The Community Dividend
This isn't just about taking waste away. It's about bringing soil back. When your Pod runs successfully for a year, Dirt Wain returns the wealth to your block:
-
Standard Pod Dividend: You receive 1 Cubic Yard of finished compost. (That is enough to fill 44 of those 5-gallon buckets you started with.)
-
Mega Pod Dividend: You receive 2 Cubic Yards of finished compost. (That is enough to fill 88 of those 5-gallon buckets.)
You decide how to use it: split the buckets among the Pod, donate it to a school, or build a community garden plot.
How to Start (Risk-Free)
We know it takes time to talk to neighbors. We don't want you paying while you are organizing.
Your First Month is FREE.
Use those first 30 days to build your Pod.
-
Get the Gear. We drop off the Hub and the 5-gallon buckets. You pay nothing yet.
-
Recruit the Crew. You hand out the buckets to your neighbors.
-
Split the Cost. By the time the first bill comes, you have a team to split it with.
